The interview started late because the manager was seen leaving the building as I got there. There was an awkward interaction with an employee who seemed unsure of what to tell me. When I was finally taken to the interview room, the manager was wearing AirPods, even though the interview email said to dress professionally. He also seemed unqualified to interview people. He said, “We expect you to come to work and perform at a high level. You are expected not to call off as it affects the whole operation.” I’m an adult and I go to work, so I wasn’t sure why he felt the need to say that in an initial interview. I was told there would be an online assessment to check my skills. Honestly, I think I’ve seen enough here.

Recruiter reached out. The first interview was pretty basic IT questions. The second interview was with Steve Tutino via video, and honestly, it was the most unprofessional and rude experience I've ever had. He's a terrible guy who decided after one question that I lacked passion. Everyone else seems fine though. Thankfully, I got better offers.

Got a call from a recruiter about the job, and she asked some basic stuff about me and set up a call with the owner. Weirdly, I had to call him. We talked about my background, his company, and the job. He asked me some basic troubleshooting, OSI, and networking questions. Then he talked salary and benefits, and seemed to offer me the job, but I had to move first. Once I moved, I called him back, and to my surprise, I was told I needed more interviews. I set up an interview with HR and a senior tech. The HR person asked about my background again. The tech asked about TCP/IP, networking, troubleshooting, OSI, DNS, and DHCP. They were nice but seemed inexperienced. They said the owner would review my answers and wanted to meet me if all was good. A few days later, they contacted me saying the owner wanted to meet. I went to their office. The owner was in a meeting, so I waited at an employee's desk and watched him and the tech troubleshooting on a big TV. Then the owner called the person who greeted me in and told them to close the door so I couldn't see, instead of closing it himself. After waiting about fifteen minutes, I was called in, even though they were still troubleshooting. The owner kept troubleshooting with the tech while I sat there, sometimes talking to the tech, sometimes looking at the TV, and sometimes asking me questions without really listening. He asked me some questions again, then offered me the job, but first rudely told me I would struggle. I accepted and was told HR would call about the offer. HR called and offered me $2,000 less than the owner said, and wouldn't budge. I signed the offer letter, but they never asked for ID, SSN, or any other documentation.

The interview process was well-organized, featuring different tests to assess personality and skills. Communication was good, and they conducted both video and in-person interviews. This is for a relatively new company in the data & wiring installations sector, serving the hotel & hospital industry.
