First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Iowa City Community School District.
Tech Support Specialist
The interview involved a lot of technical questions and how I'd handle them with real work examples. They were also happy to answer my questions about pay, benefits, PTO, and the dress code.
- Can you describe how you would troubleshoot wireless projection devices in a classroom environment?
Behavior Teacher Assistant
The interview was pretty straightforward, covering the basics. It was with the principal and her assistant, but no actual teachers were present. It would have been helpful to get more details about the job beforehand or during the interview, and to have had the chance to meet some of the teachers.
- What makes you believe you'd be a suitable candidate for our school?
Administrative Assistant
I met with the Assistant Principal and two other Administrative Assistants for about 20 minutes. Then, I met with the Principal to talk about what he was looking for in an administrative assistant. Everyone was really nice!
- In what kind of work environment do you do your best work?
Behavior Interventionist
The whole hiring process was super easy, from when I first applied online to when they invited me for an interview where I met with some of the team. They kept me updated the whole way.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with children?
