Executive Assistant
I first spoke with the recruiter for about 20 minutes. Then, the person I would be supporting came in and we had a really casual chat. We just clicked immediately, and they formally offered me the job about an hour later. It just goes to show, sometimes you know right away if you'll work well with someone!
- Can you tell me about the basic administrative duties for this role?
- What's your background with handling travel logistics?
- How do you perform when working under pressure?
Station Manager
The process was quite vague. I had to wait 30 minutes to get into a room with a bunch of executives. They asked me experience-based questions for about an hour. Then, I had one-on-one meetings with department heads. It was pretty extensive, but still unclear about what the job actually entailed, like benefits and such. The whole thing took 3 hours. In the end, I was left in a boardroom for a while, and a secretary eventually told me 'they are all gone,' and 'you can go home.' She then asked if no one had informed me.
- Tell me about your experience with old analog systems from the 1980s.
Data Scientist
The hiring manager reached out to me directly to schedule a technical phone interview. It covered machine learning and SQL database topics. Be prepared for a tough interview where you'll need to show off your technical abilities.
- How would you remove duplicate entries from a table in SQL?
- Can you explain the distinction between K-means clustering and the K-nearest neighbor algorithm?
- Which package is typically used for handling big data?
Vice President
It was a very strange process because they don't really have a proper HR department. During my interview, the interviewer was on her blackberry while asking me questions. She seemed to have no clue about the position or the industry and was extremely pompous.
- Are you not qualified to handle the pressure associated with this company?
