Got a recruiter call to set up an interview with the director. The first interview was really quick, and then I was offered a second in-person round. I decided not to proceed because I found out the company is an MLM scam, known for frequent cold calling, and the job involves 10-12 hour days for less than minimum wage.

This interview process felt like a pyramid scheme, honestly. It started with a call where I didn't even recall applying for the job. They were super vague about the actual job duties until the second interview, which was weird. Basically, you're supposed to be out at events and storefronts for non-profits. But they only had one client when I interviewed, which was a major red flag. They also mentioned wanting me to run my own team within a year and maybe open my own location in a couple of years, which sounded completely unrealistic. The hours are 9-6, six days a week, for only $30k starting, which is less than minimum wage! They talked a lot about being like a family, which is nice, but it felt like they expected total dedication for really low pay. I got an offer after the third interview, but I was so confused and after talking to friends, it just seemed too sketchy, so I turned it down. I still don't really get what they do, seems like they just want to expand fast.

Applied on a Thursday and was immediately called for an interview the next day. However, it was super misguiding because they don't hire people at mid or high levels, they make everyone start at the first level. When we chatted about salary, the manager started off saying it was one thing ($45-50k) and then about ten minutes later he said well actually really you have a guaranteed salary of $31,600 and then everything else it just depends how hard you work. I just don't think it is good strategy to market a job as one thing and then be dishonest about the salary and then correct yourself later with the ACTUAL salary. Also, it's not a marketing job. It's a soliciting and canvassing job so just be prepared. Other than that, everyone was nice talking to them and I liked the office staff a lot. The interviewing manager just seemed a little MLM scheme to me but again, regardless of that feeling, the facts of what to expect I listed above.

I had an initial screening call where the hiring manager was very polite. She asked me to tell her about myself and then inquired about my availability for an in-person interview, noting their flexibility.
