First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Invictus Marketing Group.
Marketing Assistant
I applied online and got a response almost immediately. They scheduled me for an interview the next day. Everyone was nice, but something felt off about the company. The interview was supposed to be a two-day process, but since I couldn't make it the second day, they condensed it all into one day. The first part involved standard questioning. However, it turned out the job involved door-to-door sales and customer service for Verizon, which wasn't what I applied for (Marketing Assistant). We rode in an employee's car to different neighborhoods for door-to-door sales. The whole thing took about five hours. I felt like my time was wasted and they should be upfront about the role's nature instead of tricking people into interviews. If you're looking for a marketing role, keep searching.

Events and Marketing Coordinator
I was called in for an initial interview at their office. The place was pretty bare, not much decorating, and it seemed like only three people worked there. The receptionist didn't even have a computer, which I imagine made scheduling and contacting candidates tricky. Tatiana started the interview by asking about my background, and why I was interested in marketing instead of sales. She then explained who their clients are and asked if that was something I'd be interested in. I asked about the day-to-day tasks of the role, but she avoided the question, mentioning something about in-person sales. It turns out 'Events and Marketing Coordinator' is actually a door-to-door sales position, selling Verizon. The job description was misleading; I guess they wouldn't get many applicants with an accurate description.

Sales and Business Development
I put in my application online and heard back the same day to set up an interview. I was surprised by how quick it was, but also excited. I looked up the company online and after seeing some negative reviews, I nearly backed out, but I figured I'd give it a shot since I'm looking for something new. The environment isn't like what's been said online. It's in a small business building. The company used to be in Newton and just moved to Waltham and they're working on creating a great space, like any small business and start-up with lots of chances to grow. It's nice and I felt I had to write this because I don't want others to just go by what's written online. It was worth it for me :)

Marketing Coordinator
The process was similar to other reviews. I took a 30-minute Uber from Boston for a 5-minute interview. My generic answers to her generic questions didn't seem to matter because I was offered a second round interview. The job description was vague, so I didn't proceed after researching the company on Glassdoor.
