Associate Product Manager
It's a shame that a large company like this, affiliated with Dow Jones, doesn't respect candidates' time and ghosts them. How you treat potential employees really shows the team's culture. Going through 5 interview rounds and then hearing nothing back is a tough experience that no one should face.
- Can you share details about your previous product work and projects?
Customer Service Representative
The interview was conducted via Zoom, which suggests that most or all of the team might be working remotely. It felt pretty laid-back, but it was a bit tough to really connect with everyone through the computer screen.
- What is prompting your departure from your current role?
- Can you describe your ability to multitask?
Data Analyst
I had a zoom interview with the hiring manager, who ironically laughed at me for wearing a suit. He spent about 15 minutes asking about my past job timelines, essentially repeating questions about how long I was at each role and why I'd switch jobs. He seemed not to be listening. He then moved on to technical questions but seemed to need to guide my answers, offering his own phrasing like, "That's correct, but I would say..." for every question. The whole experience felt unprofessional due to his time-wasting, arrogance, and lack of listening. I ended the call politely and withdrew my application because I couldn't imagine working with someone like that.
- Can you explain different types of Joins?
- What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses?
- What distinguishes Views from Tables?
Reporter
I had to meet with the head editors first and then got called back for a second interview in which I met with editors of different sections, the HR manager and a vice president. They asked all of the usual interview questions.
- Tell me about why you are interested in this position.
- What makes you believe you will be successful in this role?
