Client Service Representative
I applied through uni career services and got an email the next day to set up a phone interview. The entire thing took about a month. The first phone interview was with the HR Recruiter, Taylor Anderson, and it lasted 45 minutes. She started by telling me about the company and the job duties. Then we talked about my resume, and I had to explain the skills I gained from each past job. After that, there were maybe one or two easy behavioral questions. At the end, she set up a second phone interview with the client services supervisor. This second interview was 20 minutes. We started by going over my resume again, and I had to talk about my past experiences. Then she asked 3-4 behavioral questions and set up an in-person interview. The in-person interview was at 11 Greenway plaza in Houston. The whole thing there took about 2.5 hours. They began with a presentation about the company and then went into details about what Invesco does and the client services department's role. After the presentation, we toured the office and met a current client service rep who acted as a mentor, and I could ask him anything. Following that, two supervisors interviewed me for about 25 minutes. They started by asking me to go over my resume and then asked 6 behavioral questions. They read the questions from a paper and didn't make eye contact, focusing instead on taking notes. It felt a bit awkward talking to people not looking at me, but I think I answered most questions well, except maybe one. I left feeling confident about getting this entry-level role. A week later, I got an email saying I wasn't selected, and I'm still unsure what I did wrong.
- Can you share an instance where you forgot something important at work?
- Describe a situation where you received criticism on the job and how you handled it.
- Tell me about a time a customer's patience was tested.
Client Service Representative
I started with a call from HR to go over the position details and confirm my interest. After I said yes, HR prepped me for the manager interview. Invesco really helps you get ready for their behavioral questions by giving you the 7 areas they come from, the key points to include in your answers, and a sample question for each area. It's important to take good notes! Then, I was invited to a hiring session where there was a company presentation, a chat with someone doing the job for about 30 minutes, and then the main interview with two managers. HR called me with an offer the same day.
- Can you share an experience where you juggled multiple projects and how you managed them?
- Describe a situation where you overlooked something important at work.
