First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Invariant.
Communications Intern
It was a pretty standard interview process. They asked me questions about myself and my past experiences, and why I was interested in this particular role. The interviewer was really nice and let me ask questions too. It wasn't super hard, so just be ready for it.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge?
Operations Intern
It was a pretty straightforward interview with basic questions like tell me about yourself, why Invariant, etc. For the events position, make sure to have multiple stories prepared about when you solved a problem and how you dealt with difficult customers.
- Can you share an instance where you managed a challenging client or customer, and what steps you took to resolve it?
Government Relations Intern
It was a Zoom interview. They asked basic background questions and for examples of challenges faced at work or school. There was also a writing test and a Microsoft Office proficiency test to see if you can work within a decent timeline. They also asked why you want to work there. Overall, the questions were pretty straightforward.
- What experience do you have working on the hill?
Research Associate
I went through two interviews and a writing test. I never heard back after following up, which was strange since they said it wouldn't take long. They ghosted me, but I did like the interviewer.
- Tell me about your biggest weakness.
