We had a phone screening first, then I interviewed with the hiring manager and a senior team member. After that, Intratek contacted me about the interview outcomes and the next steps.

It was a quick call before talking to the client. I had to email a sample BRD, then there was an online interview with the client and an in-person interview at their office.

I was first contacted by a recruiter who was great and made me feel good about the company and the job, which was a 3-year contract for a help desk lead role with a big transportation company in Southern California. The recruiter said it fit my salary needs. I drove from Riverside to Huntington Beach for the interview. The person who would have been my supervisor interviewed me. It was the most unprofessional interview ever. He was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, his office was a mess with papers everywhere and a weird smell. He started by saying he hadn't read my resume, then quickly looked it over while asking if I had experience with PCs, printers, and blackberries. He said he'd send my resume to his client and they'd decide on another interview. Then he asked about my salary needs. I asked about the job duties, and he said he'd already gone over them. I pushed back, mentioning it was a lead role and there must be more to it than just troubleshooting those devices. He then said there were two positions, a Jr. Support and a Lead, but the pay difference was small, which surprised me because I know the pay difference is usually big. I gave him my salary requirements, which I thought were fair for a lead role, about a dollar more than my last lead job. He seemed surprised and I asked if that was a problem. He implied his client would decide who gets interviewed based on pay. I asked what his client was willing to pay, but he wouldn't say. The interview was over, but he wanted me to wait to meet the VP. I said if my salary request was too high, there was no point in meeting anyone else, so I shook his hand and left.

First, I got a quick call from someone, then had a Skype chat. After that, I went to the office and met the managers there. They asked some pretty basic stuff. Then HR called me with an offer and asked me to fill out some paperwork. I did that and sent over my ID and social security card. I kept asking for updates for five weeks, and they finally told me there was a contract issue, and they hadn't even started the background check. So I was left hanging.
