So, the recruiter first sent me two online tests to complete, one focused on personality and the other on technical skills. After I got through those, there was a significant wait until the recruiter informed me that I did well and the VP wanted me to take another online test, this time the Professional Employment Test. I asked what would happen after passing, and he mentioned an in-person interview at the company's headquarters. Once I passed that test, he then said the VP wanted to conduct a phone interview first. However, when the VP called, he informed me that the position had already been filled.

We had 3 tests and 2 interviews. First, a personality test (Myers Briggs). Then, a technical test using a new proprietary programming language and applying it to problems. Finally, a psychometric test for culture fit. The whole hiring process was quite long, taking up to 6 months from when I applied to when I got the offer.

I found the job on Seek and the recruitment agency got in touch the next day with a form to fill out. Two days later, I had a meeting with the agency who told me about three tests before company interviews. I looked up Glassdoor reviews to prepare. First was an online Predictive Index personality test, which had two questions about how I'm perceived at work. Then, we had an on-site technical employment test (TET) with 20 MUMPS programming questions (35 mins, 17+ correct) and a professional employment test (PET) with 20 cognitive ability/business logic questions (45 mins, 17+ correct). The PET was tough, as I hadn't done anything like it, and I barely finished. I recommend MUMPS tutorials and Caché practice for the TET. The PET is like SAT questions. Apparently, I was the only one out of 9 candidates to pass both tests. After that, I had a non-technical recruiter interview in Darwin, which was easy. Then, I waited a week for the technical lead from Melbourne to visit Darwin for a technical interview on-site with his supervisor. I was ready and it went smoothly. Two days later, I met the program director on-site for a casual, friendly chat. The next day, I had a phone interview with the Asia Pacific managing director, where we discussed projects and company culture. The next three weeks involved reference checks. The recruiter was very helpful throughout. I finally got an offer and I'm happy to join.
