Most people at InterSystems have worked there for a long time, maybe even decades. I think it's because they take hiring seriously. People find jobs there through referrals, agencies, or other ways. It was intimidating because I'd never had to take a test before an interview. I wasn't sure if I passed, but I did! After the test, I had three 1-on-1 interviews, each about a week apart and lasting an hour. It was the most thorough and longest interview process I've experienced. I appreciated being kept in the loop about next steps and timing. This long process gave me time to ask about company culture and the role and get different answers. The stages were suspenseful, but it made me feel confident when I accepted.

The hiring process was very rigorous and deliberate. I spoke with and met multiple people over several weeks. Before starting the interviews, all candidates had to complete an online personality assessment and an IQ test. The IQ test involved analyzing data from tables and answering multiple-choice questions, sometimes with the correct answer being that the information was insufficient. It also included reading comprehension and inference questions based on provided statements. This part is really not prep-able. You have to score above a certain threshold on the IQ test to move forward. They also put a lot of emphasis on the results of the personality test, though you can manipulate it if you know what they are looking for. Some interviews were very conversational and felt like two-way discussions, while others were very direct and probing. Ultimately, I decided the job and company weren't a good fit for me.

So, interesting process, as others have mentioned. I took online tests before finding out if I could move on. The job isn't math-related, but I was given SAT-like math questions. I have a full academic scholarship and many commendations, plus an above-average IQ, but apparently, I didn't do well. You know, you interview them as much as they interview you. The whole thing left a bad taste, so I quickly removed this from my list. Also, the first test asks for your age and says it won't be shared with the company. Luckily, as they now know, I wasn't born yesterday.
