Had a standard phone call and a weird test that everyone has to attend. I don't think it helps much between different roles, and honestly, I feel like it should only apply to programmers or coders.

Technical Behavioral

I checked out Glassdoor reviews and went in neutral, looking to learn more about the company. I met with people from business development, sales, and other departments. The business development folks were nice and chatty. Sales, however, was pretty rude and dismissive, acting like they owned the place and were looking for reasons not to hire me. I also got a sense of nepotism and some fear in sales about being replaced by better people. Some employees seemed to really care, others didn't. Sales answered my questions differently than everyone else, suggesting leadership issues there. One person said, 'people either stick with us for a year and leave or they stick with us and stay,' which I took to mean innovative people won't succeed here; they want people who won't cause trouble. The company was started by an MIT grad 30 years ago but hasn't evolved. They have an 'admission test' that's like the GMAT/GRE quantitative and qualitative reasoning, not an IQ test. You have to pass this to even get an interview, though the current test is harder than what the older employees took years ago.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

I applied on their website and heard back from the recruiter pretty quickly. First, I had a quick phone chat with the recruiter. He asked me why I wanted to leave my current job and about my resume. He also talked a bit about the company and its products. Then, he sent me links for three online tests: a personality one, a cognitive skills one, and a programming test. The programming test involved a made-up language that seemed a lot like Meditech Magic or MUMPS, and the questions had to be done in order because they built on each other. After passing those tests, I went in for an on-site interview. Following that, I had a series of four 1-hour interviews with different people. These were mostly relaxed chats where I talked about what I wanted and learned about the role. One interviewer was tougher with questions. The personality test wasn't mentioned. They seemed to be evaluating my technical/problem-solving skills and communication. The process was moving fast until this point, then it slowed down. They asked for references, and then I was told they wanted to offer me the job but needed approvals, which took a few weeks.
