Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Interstate Batteries.
Sales
It started with a phone call, then I went to their office for an in-person interview. After that, I had another interview with some managers. They also had me do a mock sales presentation. It was a lot, but they seemed really eager to hire, which made sense when I found out there's a lot of turnover.
- Can you describe your experience in sales?
- What are your thoughts on the promised bonus potential, considering the difficulty in meeting the benchmarks?
- How do you feel about the sales goals that seem unachievable?
Sales Lead
The interview process was really smooth and I learned a lot. I really liked hearing about how well the company has been doing and their plans for the future. But, the whole transparency and waiting part was handled really unprofessionally. I reached out to my contact person and the recruiting team multiple times to check in, but I didn't get any response at all (whether by phone or email). It's super tough for candidates to look for other jobs when they're stuck waiting for a reply from their recruiter. I know they're considering other people too, but getting no response at all was pretty disappointing based on my experience interviewing with big companies.
- What do you know about Interstate Batteries and our mission?
Sales
The interview process was good and smooth. Very organized and professional. It took about a week for the interview to be set up. I met with two people separately on the same day. Training was about 2 weeks.
- Can you describe your sales background?
