First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Interpreters and Translators.
Interpreter
The interview was conducted over Zoom, followed by a quiz. The quiz had several questions that were not too difficult since I speak Kurdish. The overall experience was average and helpful. This is not a full or part-time position; appointments are taken by phone.
- What native language do you speak?
- Have you interpreted for anyone before?
Coordinator
The interview process included a meeting with 2 people, specifically the VP of sales and the department manager. I got the job offer in under a week. I should've known that was a red flag since more than 5 people quit two months later.
- Tell me about a time you handled a tough situation at work.
- What are your career goals for the next five years?
- How would you contribute to our team?
Project Manager
I went through two interviews for this role. The first one was great and informative, and I felt good about it. After that, I had to complete a Hartman Personality Profile. Then, I had a final interview with an executive who was very unapproachable and seemed uninterested from the start. She avoided answering my questions, stating they'd be addressed if I were hired. She asked very basic questions without much conversation, expecting simple answers. I was interrupted often, which diminished my enthusiasm, and I just gave answers to get through the list. Also, some key job details weren't consistent between the two interviewers.
- What would be the mission statement of your life?
- What positive things would your previous employer say about you?
- What are your career aspirations for the next 5 years?
Talent Acquisition Manager
Applied online and got a fast response from a recruiter. First, a quick ~5 min recruiter screen asking about my TA Manager experience, then they immediately scheduled the next call. After that, I had a really good, informal chat with the HR Director that was informative about the company and their mission. They then scheduled me for an in-person with the VP of Operations. Upon arrival, I was told the role was actually Vendor Management/Sourcing and Procurement, not HR. This was confusing since I applied for a TA Manager role. The conversation was still enjoyable though, and the company seems impressive. However, they don't seem to vet candidates or post jobs accurately. I haven't heard back since, even after asking for a status update. The job has been open for months, so they might need to update the description.
- Can you share your background as a Talent Acquisition Manager?
