Interpret Research Analyst Interview Questions

I had a Zoom interview. The interviewer was very nice and easy to talk to. The process is transparent; they give you the questions beforehand. However, the interviewer doesn't ask them exactly as written, so keep that in mind. The questions are more of a general format. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.

The whole thing took about a month. First, I got some written questions via LinkedIn, then a phone call where they asked pretty much the same stuff. After that, I went to their SF office for an in-person interview. Then, there was a 3-hour video call with people from LA and a Powerpoint assessment. I'm guessing that was it, but honestly, I never heard back after the video interview and assessment. The whole process could've been way more organized. Scheduling got harder and harder. There was never one person to talk to, just random emails from strangers to set up the next thing. I even had to email my resume to the person interviewing me. In the last interview, two out of three people barely introduced themselves, so I had no idea who they were or what they did. The assessment itself was fine, just basic survey/research questions, asking about my favorite movies/games, fixing up an article that seemed like it was written by someone not great at English, and an online personality test. They asked the same basic stuff over and over, like 'tell me about yourself', 'favorite video game', and the classic 'why should we hire you?'. Like I said, no response after the last part, which wasn't shocking since they struggled to even schedule it. They posted the job again two weeks later. It was unclear what they wanted other than someone who plays online multiplayer games for teenagers.

This is a team-oriented interview where you'll meet most of the research team, from team leads to the VP. First, there's a recruiter phone screen to go over your resume. They're really into gaming and testing games, so definitely highlight your interest in specific games and their research. The second round involves chatting with team members about your research and data analysis experience, and your overall passion for gaming. Get ready to dive deep into a video game. There's also a test covering pattern recognition and research methods.
