Behavioral Technical

I met the recruiter at a school career fair. They called me that same night to schedule the interview for the next day, so it was super fast. The interview itself was a 2-on-1, and they mostly asked basic behavioral questions, especially about ethics and how to deal with a problem. They also asked a technical question about how the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows are connected, plus a question about working capital.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

The interview process started with an initial 1st round with two interviewers, which seemed to focus mainly on personality fit. The 2nd round was much more intense and lasted about 6 hours in total, involving meetings with about a dozen people. This included a case study, an Excel test, a behavioral interview, a technical interview, and a 1-hour lunch with current FALDs. Despite the intensity, everyone was very friendly and made me feel welcome. The business case study revolved around working capital, covering inventory valuation, COGS, and how cash flow is impacted by business factors. It required knowledge of inventory turnover, liquidity ratios, plant capacity, just-in-time inventory, and high-level business strategy.

Behavioral Technical Case

The interview process was pretty standard. First, there was an on-campus interview with typical behavioral and technical questions. Then, I was invited to a second round, which included an intense networking reception the night before the main interview day. The next day, there was a computer test covering accounting/finance concepts. This test included questions on financial ratios, classifying economic events, variances, and how financial statements connect (like how cash appears on the balance sheet and statement of cash flows). While many found the test manageable, it was challenging for me. Following the test, there were two interviews, one of which was a case interview. One interviewer didn't seem to click with me, but that's their issue. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you tell me about your strengths?
  • Describe a situation where you had to manage several projects simultaneously.
