International Sports Management Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process was pretty easy to figure out, though sometimes it was hard to get answers when I had questions. It moved along pretty fast. They had an on-site interview where I got to meet some of the higher-ups and see the office in downtown Chicago. They did phone interviews instead of virtual ones.

They asked questions about my experience and an overview of the position. They described what kind of customers they deal with and what sales goals they aim for. They also asked if I'm familiar with the kinds of sports that they sell packages for.

I had two in-person interviews for the Event Coordinator role. The first one was at their office with two members of the events team. The second one was also in person, and I spoke with the director. They asked similar questions in both, basically standard interview stuff. After the second interview, I heard nothing back, not even a rejection, which I found pretty unprofessional given I went into the office twice. Honestly, I wasn't too bothered because the salary they offered was really low, and reading Glassdoor reviews about how defensive they are to any criticism put me off anyway.

I had a phone screening with the Office Manager. She told me about the company and the job, and we discussed salary. After that, I met the Regional Manager and the Executive Assistant/Office Manager. They asked me what I knew about the company, why I wanted to work in sports hospitality management, my MS Office skills, my ability to multitask, and how I handle stress and difficult coworkers. I met with them individually, so it was repetitive. The next Monday, I had a second interview with just the Executive Assistant, and they asked pretty much the same questions again.
