Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at International House.
Teacher
I had a nice interview in May 2025 that seemed to focus on what I wanted from the position. The questions weren't difficult, but they made me think for sure. Lasted about 1 hour.
- Can you discuss challenging situations you've encountered in the classroom?
- What are your expectations from a school?
- Could you describe the ideal team you'd like to collaborate with?
English Teacher
A few days after submitting my application, I got an email to schedule an interview. During the interview, I talked about my credentials and previous work history. The interviewer then went into more detail about the job and what it entails.
- What level and age group would you like to teach?
English Teacher
The interview was basically small talk. I started with a quick self-introduction, then went into detail about my teaching experience. The interviewer didn't ask me much. Instead, I asked the interviewer for lots of job details about IH. He immediately offered me a job and said HR would email me about onboarding procedures.
- Could you share your teaching experience?
- Do you have any questions for me?
