First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Interface.
Sustainability Specialist
So, first there was a recruiter screening call, then I had a first team call with the local team members. After that, I had a second call where I met with a remote team member. Then, an in-person interview with local team members. Lastly, there was a multi-team interview where folks from sales, marketing, and the technical sustainability team were all present.
- Can you share which of Interface's core values you connect with the most, and explain your reasoning?
Account Executive
So, the HR team did the initial screening call. After that, I met with my direct manager, and they decided to move forward with me. There were about 3 or 4 rounds in total, and all the interviews were super professional, friendly, and straightforward. They always let me know what the next step would be at the end of each call or meeting, so I never felt uncertain. The whole process was really smooth, and the team was very proactive and efficient.
- Can you describe your previous work experience over the last 5 to 10 years?
ESG Analyst
So the interview process had four rounds. First, I had an introductory call with an HR rep, Sara George, who explained the role and what to expect. Then, I had a Microsoft Teams interview with my current manager, Lindsay Stoda. She talked more about the responsibilities and asked me about my background and skills. After that, I went to the Base Camp office for an in-person chat with Bruce Hausmann, the CFO of Interface. We had a longer conversation about my experience and how I'd fit the team. The last interview was with both Lindsay and Liz Minne, Head of Global Sustainability Strategy. I got to ask more detailed questions about the role and also share my passion for sustainability and ESG on a more personal level.
- What drives your passion for sustainability and how do you see yourself continuing to engage with it, particularly given the increasing difficulties faced by sustainability initiatives?
- Can you elaborate on your passion for sustainability and your strategy for its continued pursuit, especially considering the mounting challenges in this area?
Client Development Associate
Worst interview experience ever. Took about 2 months total. I had 2 phone interviews and 3 in-person interviews over about a month and a half. After those, I got an email saying I had one more interview because the person I was supposed to meet wasn't available when scheduled, and that I should wait for more contact. It's been three and a half weeks since that email and still no word or sign they've gone with someone else. I emailed the recruiter for an update on the timeline, and they said the company hadn't decided yet and would decide on Friday. Friday came and still no response. I emailed the hiring manager the next Wednesday for an update. The recruiter replied saying they went with an internal candidate. Seriously, respect candidates' time and be clear about timelines. Look at internal candidates first before considering external ones. Once you start the process, update candidates on the status and don't leave them hanging for weeks.
- Can you discuss your past experience?
