First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Interbrand.
Associate Consultant
It was a six-round process over three months. Started with HR for a phone screen, then moved on to interviews with strategy and analytics directors and the portfolio managing director. These were a mix of teleconference, in-person, and Skype. For an entry-level role, the vetting was really thorough and involved. I'd suggest not using the same interviewers for different rounds because most of the content gets covered in the first conversation.
- Can you tell me what brand you consider yourself to be?
Strategy Consultant
So I was contacted for a phone interview about two months ago by a really big brand consulting firm. They rescheduled the interview 5 times! The HR person never called, and would just send an email saying she was busy and would be unavailable the following week. This happened again and again. They never actually called me. It's really disrespectful to waste applicants' time like this. They should at least give applicants an answer instead of rescheduling endlessly.

Associate Consultant
I got referred by someone in the department and after sending over my writing samples, cover letter, and resume, I was invited for an interview. I had a limited window of availability for interviews and thought we had everything set based on the emails. I traveled to New York and heard nothing from them. I waited at a nearby restaurant just in case. Because I was still very interested in the role, I reached out again the next day and they set up a day of interviews for a future date. I met with 7 different people throughout the day, one after another. The interviews were held in an open area near several offices, which was a bit distracting. The interviewers discussed my performance between my meetings. I felt I did pretty well. They sent me a second test the following week, which I completed as quickly as I could. I didn't hear back, even after sending thank-you notes to each interviewer and trying to keep in touch with the HR contact. Then, 3 weeks later, I got a phone call informing me that I did not get the job.
