Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Interbrand.
Designer
So I applied online and got a call from HR. Then I had an interview with some senior designers. We talked about my portfolio and their projects and branding. It was pretty fast until then. HR said they'd let me know about a second interview, but then I heard nothing. I emailed them after 2 weeks and they told me to wait 2-3 more weeks for other candidates. I waited, but still nothing. I called HR again after a month and a half and she told me the same thing, to wait more weeks. She didn't even apologize. They never contacted me, so I stopped waiting and don't care anymore. Worst and rudest experience ever.
- What makes you want to work for Interbrand?
Senior Designer
I was introduced by a former colleague. We had a casual initial meeting where I discussed my background and showed some of my recent work. Then, I met separately with the Creative Director and the Executive Director to go over the role more thoroughly. Finally, I talked with HR about logistics and any questions they had.
- Can you walk me through your experience and career goals, the company's future vision, and how your skills fit into the team?
- Tell me about a challenge you've faced.
Designer
It was a conversation with a commission of two employees who worked through a list of questions. One employee asked the questions and the other took notes on my answers. The whole thing felt like a scene from the job interview in the movie 'Men in Black'.
