First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea.
Production Worker
The interview was pretty straightforward, not too difficult. They asked questions related to coffee production and whether I have experience with shipping and receiving. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all during the process.
- Do you have experience working in production?
- Are you familiar with shipping and receiving procedures?
- Are you able to stand for extended periods?
Barista
I met with the store manager and the director of retail operations. They asked me some basic questions about myself, why I wanted the job, and my interest in coffee. I didn't think I gave a great answer because it was one of my first interviews in a while, but they both just had stony faces the whole time, which was unusual since people normally react to what you say. So, I'd say don't expect any surprises in the first interview. Just be enthusiastic and upbeat about coffee. Honestly, I've never found people who work at Intelligentsia to be particularly personable, so really, all you need is to be obsessed with coffee.
- Why are you interested in coffee?
- Have you been to an Intelligentsia store before, and if so, what was your experience like?
- Did your experience meet your expectations?
Ecommerce Coordinator
The interview process was okay. One interviewer was 15 minutes late for our 30-minute interview, but the others went well. Everyone was super kind and great to interview with. I had to prepare a work task for my final round and present it to the whole team.
- What improvements would you suggest for our current e-commerce experience?
Customer Experience Manager
I had conversations with people from different departments about what the job would involve and how I'd handle certain situations. We also discussed how the company operates and what my daily tasks would be like.
- How would you define being an efficient and reliable employee?
