Operations Manager
I applied on-line and had a phone screen with the recruiter the very next day. The week after that, I had an in-person interview with the recruiter, and the following week, I had a video conference interview with the hiring manager who was overseas. The recruiter was super friendly and helpful, though she did seem a bit frustrated trying to figure out the main job requirements from the hiring manager who was abroad. When I finally spoke with the hiring manager, I learned that what he was looking for wasn't quite what was written in the job description. It kind of felt like a peek into how things work internally there.

Licensing Analyst
I applied online and a recruiter from the company reached out. I had two calls with the recruiter where we discussed my background and interests. Then, I went into the office for an in-person interview loop. The recruiter was consistently late for our calls, sometimes by an hour, even though we're in the same time zone. The interview with the hiring manager and the team went fine, with standard questions. I was then referred for a different position that seemed like a better fit. I interviewed with that hiring manager, who said they'd contact me after the new year to schedule the next steps. However, I never heard back from anyone at the company, not even the recruiter when I emailed for an update. The whole recruiting process felt unprofessional.
- What's your approach to valuing a patent within the mobile industry?
Business Systems Analyst
I sent my resume for a job I saw on craigslist and an employee I knew recommended me. We didn't hear back for a couple of weeks, but after some internal nudging, I got a phone call with HR. It turned out they were almost done interviewing for the role. They skipped the manager phone interview and scheduled me for an in-person interview with several managers the following week. Everyone I met was really nice and enthusiastic about the company's future, noting how much it had changed since they started. I felt pretty good about how I did with everyone except for one person who seemed uninterested and, based on what I knew, had already made a decision. My contact later told me they were actually looking for a reporting analyst and ended up hiring a junior one for the senior business systems analyst position I applied for.
- If instructed to simply recreate an existing report based on requirements, what would be your approach?
Financial Analyst
I had two phone interviews with the recruiter that were 45 minutes each. Then after waiting a couple of weeks, I had a final in-person interview. I was supposed to meet two people, but then they brought in the CFO to interview me too. That interview was 45 minutes, and the earlier ones were an hour with each person. They said they'd let me know their decision in two weeks, but it's been two months and I still haven't heard anything. I emailed the recruiter after three weeks to ask, but no response. It's really unprofessional not to tell people who interviewed in person the final decision.
