The hiring process started with a quick call from the recruiter to go over my resume and make sure I was still into the job. Then, I had a 45-minute technical chat with someone on the engineering team. We talked about my background in microfabrication, process development, and fixing equipment. They dug into my knowledge of lithography, etching, and cleanroom stuff, and also asked how I handle designing experiments and figuring out the root cause of problems. The interviewer was cool and laid out what Intel expects from engineers who do hands-on work and collaborate across teams. It felt pretty straightforward, and the whole thing took about two weeks from when they first reached out to when I heard back.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Could you walk me through a cleanroom process you developed or improved, and what difficulties you ran into?

Technical Behavioral

This was for an entry-level Process Engineer role. It was just one interview, and it was split pretty evenly between technical and behavioral. They asked two technical questions that were directly from my internship experience listed on my resume, and then one more that was a general engineering concept.

They set up a 45-minute panel interview for me. It involved basic questions about MOSFETs, specifically how the threshold voltage (Vt) influences changes. They also gave me some visual graphs to assess my data visualization abilities and asked me to present a tool I've used before.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you explain the effect of Vt changes on a MOSFET?
  • How would you interpret these graphs to show your data visualization skills?
  • Could you give a presentation on a tool you have experience with?
