After you submit a writing assessment, you'll have two in-person interviews. First, you'll chat with a senior associate who wants to check out your time management, how you handle deadlines, your research skills, and your general work style. They'll also ask about your life, goals, and how you tackle challenges at work. Then, the head of management will chat with you to go over bigger-picture strategic thinking, how you'd fit with the team, and what you can bring to the company long-term.

Things moved fast initially. After a phone interview and an assessment, they went totally silent. I reached out for an update on timelines and heard nothing back. I thought they were being super prompt at first, but ultimately, they ghosted me.

I mostly interacted with the recruiter and the CAO/Co-founder. While they were pleasant, the interview process itself felt a bit disorganized and not very professional. The CAO kept bringing up negative Glassdoor reviews about employee retention and dismissed my concerns when she noticed I'd read them. Honestly, if a company wants to recruit better, they should treat applicants with respect and address their questions. That condescending attitude towards younger candidates leaves a bad impression, making their claims of 'Integrity' seem like just empty marketing, and pretty poor marketing at that.

  • Could you share your previous work experience?
  • Can you provide an overview of your resume?
  • Can you recount a situation where you didn't meet a client's expectations? What steps did you take to resolve it, and what insights did you gain?

So they pretty much give interviews to everyone, even if you have no shot at getting the job. The on-site interview at their Reston office is actually going to be a group interview where you sit with several other applicants. They do this because, again, they give interviews out to everyone. It's okay if you live in DC and can take the metro, but don't waste your time coming out if you live far away.

  • During the phone interview, what's your best quality?
  • During the on-site interview, tell us your story/introduce yourself.
