Data Scientist Intern
The interview process involved an online assessment on HackerRank, followed by a recorded online virtual interview that was mostly behavioral. Then, there was a 1-on-2 technical interview via MS Teams with two data scientists, and finally, a 1-on-1 interview with the data science manager.
- Can you elaborate on the specifics of your most recent project?
- What distinguishes Python lists from tuples?
- Could you discuss a machine learning-related topic?
Data Scientist
So there were like two interviews. The first one was a technical interview with a group of data scientists and a manager, and we really dove deep into a project I had done before, talking about the tech details and how I did it. They also threw in some modelling and coding questions. The second interview was more of a fit interview with the director.
- Could you describe a data science project you previously worked on?
- Can you elaborate on the technical aspects and methodology of a past data science project you handled?
- Tell me about the modeling techniques employed in your previous project.
Data Scientist
Submitted my application on Day 0. On Day 6, there was an online multiple-choice test, which was pretty easy, just like a typical exam. Then, on Day 16, I had an online HR video interview, which was automated where I had to answer pre-set questions within a time limit, and no retakes were allowed. Finally, on Day 36, I had an in-person onsite interview. There were 3 interviewers, and they asked standard questions. It seems like they are hiring for this role all year round.
- Can you explain the difference between a random forest and a gradient boosted decision tree?
