First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions.
Intern
The interview process starts with an online screening by HR, where they'll ask some basic questions about your resume and work authorization. After that, you'll have an interview with a technical person, who could be a senior engineer or a team lead. The final step is an interview with the hiring manager.
- Could you go over your resume and describe your projects in detail?
Underwriting Analyst
The interview process wasn't too challenging. It involved one initial phone screening, followed by three more interviews. Overall, it was a good experience; the interviewers were really friendly and helped make each interview more comfortable.
- Could you start by walking me through your resume?
- What specifically interests you about Trade Credit?
- Could you explain the financial statements to me?
Customer Service Representative
I didn't really like how the interview process went. Basically, I had to record myself on video answering 5 questions. It felt like it took away all my personality and spontaneity. They give advice saying to be spontaneous and that they want to see who you are, not a perfect version, but honestly, who can be spontaneous on camera? I didn't pass, and I really think I would have performed better if it was in person.
- As usual, why are you interested in working for our company?
- Describe a situation where you successfully resolved a conflict.
- What are your thoughts on technology?
Senior QA Automation Engineer
Applied online mid-July. Got a response two weeks later for a phone screen. Then ghosted for two more weeks, so I followed up. A week after that, they scheduled a 45-minute video interview for mid-August. The interview covered general Java, Selenium, API, SQL, Automation, Manual testing, and behavioral questions. The manual tester manager was on time, but the automation manager was late and seemed unenthusiastic, reading questions from a screen. They ghosted me again for three weeks until I asked for an update. A week later, they sent a generic rejection email stating they found a better match. Overall, the process was very slow, unprofessional, and had late responses.
- Tell me about your experience with Java.
- Can you explain your knowledge of Selenium?
- What is your experience with automation testing?
