The interview process was great! It was a two-interview process. The first interview was with the team manager and the director, and they asked me some behavioral and technical questions. The second interview was a panel interview with the whole team in their office, with a lot of whiteboarding and technical questions. The team seemed like a fun team to work with! Overall, I'd say they have a well-designed interview process that isn't too difficult or scary. It's a bummer that I didn't get an offer though, as I felt like I did really well. I was also bothered by the fact that the position was reposted on LinkedIn almost immediately after they sent me a rejection email. Odd timing.

So it was a four round interview process. The first round was an online test with a 14 question quiz and two coding challenges, 75 minutes total which wasn't enough time but they said to just do what I could. It was fun. After that, I had two one-hour interviews with tech leads for their two products. Each of these was a half-hour talk and a half-hour coding/architecture planning session. Then there was an online interview with a team lead developer, again half-hour talk, half-hour coding. The final round was an online interview with the VP of the product I was being considered for, which was also a half-hour talk and half-hour coding. Everyone was really nice and professional. The only bummer is I didn't get an offer, and the reason was kinda weird because I applied for a frontend dev role and they said I had too much frontend heavy hands-on experience. A lot of the questions repeated across the interviews.

I was reached out by a recruiter and we had about a 45-minute chat about the company and my background. After that, I got an online HackerRank test with 2 coding questions and 15 multiple choice questions, with a 75-minute time limit. It was pretty tough, but the recruiter did warn me it wouldn't be a simple pre-screening. I heard back a week later that there's a hiring freeze and the process is paused with no idea when it'll resume. I didn't get any feedback on my online test, which I thought was unprofessional given the effort I put into preparing and submitting it. It was also strange that I never actually spoke with anyone from Instructure directly. They really left me feeling disappointed.
