I interviewed with several people from the team and also HR. They indicated they wanted to offer me the job and asked about my salary expectations. HR followed up a week later saying they couldn't meet my salary expectations, not even close, so they wouldn't be extending an offer. This confirmed my feeling that this company pays less than others. The role asked for 5 years of experience, but I suspect they might prefer to hire less experienced people they can train rather than an experienced person who can do the job immediately.

I applied to ISS online with my resume and a cover letter. They processed my application quickly. I had to complete a 90-minute test on basic financial knowledge. After that, I had two video interviews with research analysts from different departments.

It was a 3 stage interview process. The first stage was a written test with a couple of prompts. One prompt was about a well-known convention in the field and asked about its pros and cons. The other prompt asked for a brief analysis of a recent event, providing a specific answer structure and format. The second and third stages were both culture fit interviews with the team and HR. All interviews were conducted via Teams. The interviewers were very understanding and didn't put much pressure on me.
