Get ready for a whole morning of meetings with people who really shouldn't be interviewing. You'll meet 6 people, in pairs, for three rounds. They don't plan their questions, so you'll end up repeating yourself for three hours. Four of the six interviewers are peers, not managers. It seems like they've never worked anywhere else since college. The job description isn't clear about what they want. It says 'IT skills (SQL, VB, programming, etc.) a plus,' but half my questions were about IT and programming. The other half were finance questions, even though I was told in the phone interview that the finance part was something I could learn on the job. You really need a finance background for this role. Most interviewers are under 27 and act their age; professionalism isn't a strong suit at ISS. Many questions from younger folks weren't about the job or my qualifications, but more about whether they liked me. If you have post-college experience or an advanced degree, questions will focus on parts of the job you wouldn't know without training. About two-thirds of the interview felt like the interviewer trying to show they're smarter than you. Key things to know: you NEED a finance background with some programming skills. The tough (non-personal) questions are mostly about those two areas.
