I got contacted for an initial interview over the phone where I had to answer some basic questions about my experience and why I was motivated for the role. After that, I was asked to submit an introductory reel about myself, sort of like a TikTok style, which I did. Then, I had an in-person interview with the two main people at Inspire. They seemed really welcoming and it was clear they had interviewed a few people already. I prepared some Powerpoint slides to discuss my experience and what I could bring to the role. They seemed to like it and appreciated the effort I put into preparing. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job because they chose someone with more direct experience in youth and charity work, but they did encourage me to stay in touch.

I had an interview over teams. It seemed to go well, and they mentioned they'd send my resume and notes to the hiring manager at the broadmoor. They said it might take a week or two to schedule a second interview because of some big events coming up. I sent a thank you email but never heard back. I didn't even get a rejection email.

Behavioral Technical

My interview process involved setting up breakout rooms, striking them, building projector screens, flying projector screens, setting up various projectors, audio equipment, video equipment, lighting equipment, and scenic elements for different shows and events. This included gobo lights, LEDs, mics, speakers, amps, podiums, mixers, AC/DC power, and 40'+ TVs. I had to verbally list different departments and share my knowledge about them. They wanted to understand my potential placement within the company. I was stationed at a hotel where I managed most of the sound operations, and I also travel back and forth from there to the corporate office. It was a great experience with great people.

First there was a short written test about audio, lighting, and video basics. Then, I talked with HR and the Show Services Director. We discussed what they expected from me, my living situation, and my experience. We also talked about pay and safety rules.
