Behavioral Presentation

There were 4 interviews in total. The first two were one-on-one conversations, the third involved meeting with the team, and the final one was with the department head. They were all pretty relaxed and focused on getting to know you, asking more about your personality and what you're looking for rather than specific software or the role itself.

So the recruiter called me first. Then I had this 1-hour interview with 2 people, they said it wasn't technical but it really was. After that, 4 people were part of a two-hour interview where they asked questions and gave me coding problems. The interview itself was okay, but they were missing the 'human factor'. They judged me based on what they thought a senior developer should know, not what I actually know, and they wanted answers like a 'college student', strictly by the book! If you didn't answer exactly like that, they'd think you didn't know anything. I felt it was a waste of my time. Realizing they lacked the 'human factor' midway, I figured working there might not be great.

It started with a 15 minute phone screen call where they grill you right out of the gate. It was a very weird first call because the talent acquisition person had no common courtesy and seemed like they didn't want to be there. The job description was completely different than the day to day work they described on the call. I would recommend being a bit friendlier on the first call because after this I pulled myself from the running. Also, would recommend to write clearer job posts about the actual work so you do not waste the time of potential employees. Overall they the interviewer gets a D- overall. What a waste of time and effort. do better.

Behavioral Technical

After my initial interview, the HR Generalist mentioned that the team wanted to proceed with a second interview and asked for my availability over the next few days for a 30-minute meeting. I responded the same day with my excitement and availability, but didn't hear back for weeks. I followed up to schedule, but still received no response. When I asked for feedback, the HR Generalist stated that other candidates demonstrated the required skills better and they wouldn't be moving forward with my application. I suspect she was referring to candidates whose second interviews were actually scheduled. The first interview itself was with an interviewer who was 10 minutes late, apologetic, and disorganized. The interview lacked clear direction, and no skills were really assessed. While assessing skills in an interview can be difficult, I felt overqualified and unimpressed. I can't be sure who they ultimately hired, but the process felt rushed and lacked due diligence. It was disappointing.
