Digital Marketing Specialist
It started with an online questionnaire and a test, no meeting anyone before. The test was a long analysis and optimization task for several Google Ads campaigns, requiring at least 6 hours of work. I sent over some general suggestions. Then there was a video interview. After that, they wanted me to dive deeper into the campaigns and suggest optimizations, to see my thought process. I ended up sending back the analysis for 2 campaigns out of the 6, which had many ad groups. The final interview was with the director, who then offered me half of the salary range I had initially asked for. Honestly, it felt like a complete waste of my time. It would be better if they either didn't ask for a salary range if they planned to ignore it, or if they published it with the job ad.
- Could you optimize these 6 campaigns, each having several ad groups?
Marketing Assistant
Instead of talking with HR, I chatted with two different team managers. One manager, a woman, was really nice and treated me well. The other manager, a man, was just okay. We both spent the same amount of time talking about the job and answering questions, and I think they were checking my skills at the same time.
- What is your understanding of our company?
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
- What potential challenges do you foresee in this role?
Web Marketing
I submitted my application via their website. About two days later, they requested two writing samples. The process moved swiftly. The interview itself was straightforward, mainly involving a review of my resume. The interviewer asked limited questions, primarily prompting me to discuss my background.
- Can you discuss your past experiences?
Web Developer
So for me, there weren't any coding problems like you see at big tech companies. It was all about my resume and past projects. The people there were pretty nice. The questions were straightforward, focusing mainly on my experience with PHP and CMS like Wordpress. The office environment was good, and many people working there aren't software engineers.
- Can you describe the most challenging project you've completed?
- What has been your experience with PHP?
- What is your experience with CMS platforms like Wordpress?
