The interview process was multi-stage and quite thorough. It started with an online assessment that focused on problem-solving and technical concepts, followed by two rounds of technical interviews. These involved data structures, system design, and scenario-based questions. The final round was with an HR manager to assess cultural fit and communication skills.

The pay was quite low, about 30% below market rate, but I needed a job. They did check in about the pay though. I was also overqualified, which we discussed, and they said it wouldn't be an issue since the company was growing and a better role would open up. The process included an interview with the CEO for this Business Analyst role, which felt like micromanagement. This was the stage where I was not selected. I wouldn't have accepted anyway due to the micromanagement.

The interview was pretty straightforward, though it felt like some panels asked the same questions over again. It was a bit disheartening when I was asked about my future career goals, and my response of 'business analyst' was met with criticism. They took an unusually long time to explain why they thought that transition wasn't feasible for a QA engineer, which seemed like a bad sign. I made it pretty far in the process, and they indicated things were going well. There were two interview sessions involving four panels in total, taking about four hours, plus an additional 4-5 hours I spent researching. After speaking with HR and the manager, I was told they'd follow up in a few days, but they ended up ghosting me, which was strange given how much of the process I completed. I didn't even get a rejection notice.

So the process started with a quick phone call from the recruiter, just some basic questions, and then they set up an in-person interview. That first call was good, the recruiter made sure I had everything I needed, like what to bring. When I got to Inseego, the recruiter met me in the lobby and was super nice. Then I was taken to the conference room for the interview, where two people from the department I applied to were waiting. They talked with me for about 30 minutes, asking about my past experience, how I'd handle certain situations, and just generally about me. It was refreshing because I'd been through some rough interviews before that, where people didn't seem interested in me at all, and frankly made me feel unwelcome. But here, the team was really kind and genuinely wanted to get to know me. It felt more like a conversation, which I really appreciated. After that, the recruiter checked in to see how things were going, and then I met with the department manager. Even though she had my resume, she mostly asked about me and my career goals, which again made me feel really comfortable. It was honestly the best interview experience I've ever had.
