& Process

After some back and forth via email, the first interview was to mutually introduce myself and the direct managers for the position (there were 2 of them). Then, I got a response via email, though it took a while to arrive.

The interview process was really smooth and they were super organized. They seemed genuinely interested in my background and expertise, which was nice. The questions were thoughtful and really showed they understood what the job needs. I was so happy to get an offer at the end! Overall, it was a really positive and professional experience that made me feel good about the company and how they find candidates.

So at INRAE, the hiring process generally has a few steps, and how long it takes to hear back can change depending on how many people apply and what the job really needs. Here's the general rundown: First, they get your application and look it over, either HR or the hiring team. Then, they pick out the best fits for the job's requirements. If you make the cut, they might call or email you to set up a first chat. You'll then have an interview, usually with some of the hiring folks or people from the department you're applying to. This could be in person, over the phone, or video. During the interview, they'll check out your technical skills, qualifications, work history, and if you'd be a good fit for the organization. Depending on how that goes, there might be more interviews, technical tests, or personality assessments. Once everything's done, they decide who gets the job.

There were two interviews. The first was with the HR manager to go over my CV, talk about salary expectations, and discuss my experiences. This stage didn't seem too important. The second interview was with my future manager (N+1) where we discussed my vision for the role and my knowledge of the agricultural sector.
