Project Coordinator
This interview process was really discouraging. The HR Generalist said it would only be a 5-minute call to see if I'd move on to speak with someone else in the department for employment. Usually, introductory calls are with the recruiter who contacted you, and then there's a formal interview. I think the HR person misspoke when they said I'd be talking to the initial recruiter again. The HR person just stated the position and then asked about my salary expectations, without even describing the job or the company. After I gave my range, they said it was fine but also surprisingly low for what the company usually offers for this role. I based my salary expectations on typical entry-level project coordinator ranges and Glassdoor estimates. When I asked if the higher salary meant they were looking for someone more experienced, they confirmed and essentially said they'd probably hire someone with more experience, even though the company offers training for this job. The job post, which I had to find myself, doesn't actually 'require' experience, just 'prefers' some construction experience. Since I have that, the conversation didn't make much sense. Instead of acknowledging my experience, they suggested I might want to look elsewhere. I was really disappointed with how it went, especially since they recruited me for the role. If HR didn't think I was a good fit, they shouldn't have reached out. After I gave my feedback to the recruiter, they apologized and said they'd update the job post to clarify the experience needed. They changed it to require 1-2 years of experience, and I have 1 year and 6 months in the industry. I was very let down by HR's effort. If you're offering mid-level pay, you should clearly state the experience you require. 1-2 years is still an entry-level requirement, so it's still misleading to applicants. Please improve your recruiting and interviewing so people don't feel their time was wasted.
- What salary range are you expecting?
Customer Service Specialist
I applied online and then got an email from HR about 3 months later to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was good, and it led to an in-person interview the next week. That interview also went well, and they said they'd contact me for a third interview within a week. Two weeks passed and I heard nothing, so I emailed HR to check in. They replied that they hadn't finished the first round of interviews yet and expected to wrap it up in the next week. I waited another two weeks with no word, so I emailed the person I interviewed with, but got no response. Meanwhile, a friend of mine applied for the same job, and within a week, she got a rejection email. This whole application and interview process took 2 months without any professional communication from Inpro. I'd heard good things about Inpro, but I guess I didn't get a real chance to see for myself.
- What makes you a good candidate for Inpro?
Sales Manager
The interview process started with about three Skype calls. First, I spoke with HR, then my potential direct supervisor, and finally, the VP of Sales and some other top leaders. After that, I had a final in-person interview at the corporate headquarters. Inpro paid for everything for this trip, like my flight and hotel. It was a really great experience meeting other employees and seeing how passionate and dedicated they are. The whole process felt very honest and helpful. They answered all my questions, and the atmosphere was really comfortable. It felt like they genuinely wanted to find the right fit, just like I did. Honestly, it was the best and most thorough interview experience I've ever had.
- Why do you believe you would be a good fit for Inpro?
- What is your strategy for quickly learning the necessary information to become proficient in this role?
Sales
The interview started with a screening call over Skype, but their video wasn't working. We then had a face-to-face meeting two weeks later which I thought went well, though I wasn't told about the one-hour time limit until it was over. During that meeting, I got the impression the hiring manager wasn't going to talk about some issues with the company. At the end, I was told I'd hear back in three weeks about the next steps. It's been over five weeks and I haven't heard anything back despite trying to get an update. Really unprofessional.
- Can you describe a typical day in your current role?
