First, there was a phone screen with a recruiter to chat about my background, like how familiar I am with certain languages or tools. Then, another phone screen with someone from the technical team, where we went over my resume. Finally, a virtual interview with three senior team members where they asked about my projects and experience, plus some technical knowledge questions.

The interview process was informative and efficient. I was able to interview with multiple team members who provided very honest answers to my questions and accurate descriptions of my day-to-day work. HR had quick responses, and I received a final decision within one week.

I was really excited about this company because of their mission, product, and the great reviews I saw. However, my experience with the recruiter and the interview process was pretty disappointing. They scheduled a screening about a week out, but then the recruiter rescheduled last minute, like 5 minutes before, not once, but twice. They seemed annoyed that I couldn't just drop everything and reschedule for another day. After a week with no word, I reached out, and they said the screening went well and to set up an interview. This interview was supposed to be 60 minutes, panel-style with behavioral and technical questions, with about 5 engineers on Teams. But in reality, it was just two people, screens off, though mine was on. They had similar roles, so it was mostly technical questions. While I guess it was an easier interview, I was hoping for more of a two-way street, to learn about the culture and get some behavioral questions too. With fewer people, it felt a bit long, which makes sense. The interviewers were nice, though, and told me about their cool projects. I did ask about the 25% travel requirement, and they mentioned that over 200 days on the road annually is pretty common. Also, they said one interview isn't typical and they both had four interviews, not the one the recruiter mentioned. There was definitely some miscommunication. Given potential August start dates, it was a close call, and I was an early interviewer. It's been over a week and a half since the recruiter said they'd get back with results, and I've emailed them again, feeling pretty exasperated but still hopeful because the interviewers were friendly and the mission is interesting. It's been over two weeks now since the recruiter's supposed timeline. I've definitely been ghosted after applications before, but this is my first time being ghosted after a full screening and interview. I really hope this company lives up to its positive reviews and respects candidates' time during the hiring process.

Had a really thorough interview. The HR person was super nice and asked some general technical questions. It was a 30-minute phone call where we talked about the company and its business.
