First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at innoPath.
Software Development Engineer
It was a pretty straightforward process. First, there was a recruiter call, then a technical screen. The technical questions were pretty basic, mostly focusing on my experience in previous jobs. They asked relevant questions and I made sure to show genuine interest in the company, culture, and the job itself. They also asked about my experience with Android debugging techniques.
- Can you discuss your past work experiences?
- Tell me about your previous experience.
User Experience Designer
I talked to a recruiter over the phone first. Then there was a technical phone interview. After that, I came in twice for some one-on-one interviews and also some group interview parts. The toughest interviews were with the VP and the CEO, who still interviews everyone.
- Could you design a new interface on the spot based on a conceptual discussion?
- If you had additional time, what modifications would you make to this user interface?
Software Engineer
I had a phone screening where they asked me basic questions about my past experience. After that, I had an onsite interview which involved about 5 interviews back-to-back. The interviews went pretty well overall, and most of the people were nice, except for one person who had a really mocking attitude. He was super strict about syntax and was also rude. It was okay, but that one person really soured the experience for me. Not the best place to work. There was a lot of whiteboarding involved in the interviews. The technology didn't seem that interesting though.
- Can you discuss memory management?
- What are copy constructors?
- Tell me about linked lists.
Software Engineer
InnoPath's hiring process appears to be structured with sequential gatekeepers, where progression depends on passing each level. If you don't pass, the next person in line might be unavailable. The process isn't perfectly organized, and sometimes a return visit might be necessary if the next interviewer is unexpectedly busy. They place more importance on your ability to understand and articulate ideas and decision-making processes rather than strictly matching your experience to an imagined ideal candidate profile; being 'overqualified' isn't a concern. Expect some challenging technical questions in the initial interview, but don't feel pressured to answer every single one perfectly.
- Can you explain the difference between SQL inner and outer joins?
