Had an initial chat with HR, then they sent over this "assessment project" which was basically free work. After I sent it back, I had a second interview. Then they ghosted me for 10 days until I asked for an update, and I got an automated email saying they decided to move forward with other candidates.

The interview felt like a formality. The interviewer made minimal effort to understand my background, asking only general questions and making some assumptions that came across as condescending.

Behavioral Technical

It started with a phone call to get to know each other, discuss the job, and go over qualifications. Then there was a compensated video edit test to make a video asset for the company to check my skills. After I finished the video test and the company was happy with it, they said they'd let me know about next steps in a few days. I didn't hear back for 2 weeks, so I followed up. After assuming they weren't going to reply, I noticed the same video editor position was posted again the next month, and again 2 months after that. It makes me wonder if these companies are actually looking to fill the role or just trying to find cheap video editors for low-cost labor.
