The interview process felt a bit lengthy, but that's understandable for a finance role, especially with month-end and summer holidays coinciding. Otherwise, it was a good experience. Had an interview with HR (about 30-45 mins) and then with the hiring manager (around 45-60 mins), both on the same day. Interviewers were happy to answer questions, and it sounded like a great place to learn manufacturing finance, with interesting products, skilled people, a good culture, and an international feel despite the location near Innsbruck. The next steps involved an interview with another manager and an Excel test.

The recruiting process kicked off with an initial meeting with the manager. This was to gauge my interest and background, and also to discuss an accounting and Excel test I had completed. It was a pretty chill conversation with no difficult questions. About a week after that, I had my second interview with the Service Finance Manager. They're quite quick with hiring once you get started. This second interview was mainly about checking my technical accounting skills.

They also checked my language skills by switching between languages multiple times during the interview. Finally, they asked specific questions about my previous role to see if it aligns with the tasks they would have for me right now.

I had a chat with a recruiter from the company first. They asked general things like if I knew other languages and told me about the company's work locations. Then, I had a technical interview with a group of managers from the main company in Austria. We talked about my background in software development. It seemed to go really well, and one manager even said they were very impressed with my answers and how I explained things, both the questions they asked and ones they didn't. They seemed happy with what I shared, and I felt positive about the prospects. But then, a few days later, I got a standard rejection email. I wish they had given me a more specific and honest reason.
