Reimbursement Specialist
The entry process was great for qualifying me. Challenging and rewarding. Questions and dialogue were fair, reasonable, and well-prepared, helping both me and the company make the best choice. It started with a recruiter phone screen about company benefits and included tough questions for mutual assessment. Less than a week later, I got an invitation for a face-to-face interview at the main office, which is an impressive facility. I had a helpful discussion with the hiring manager, who also asked good questions and prompted helpful dialogue. The response time was average. I was invited for two more face-to-face interviews on the same day, which helped me make my decision. I received an offer within a few weeks of my last visit. The work culture and office environment were a big selling point, both during the interview and now on the job. The message and reality was that this is a place where your contributions count.
- Can you describe examples from your previous work experience that show a good match of your skills with the company's needs?
Reimbursement Coordinator
I was interested in a telephone interview for a position, and a week later I was told the position was now temporary through an agency. I applied for another job and had a first interview with two supervisors. It lasted about 20 minutes and went well, though they weren't very polished. They said I'd hear back in a few days. A week went by with no contact, so I called HR. The HR rep called me back and scheduled a second interview for the following week due to the holidays. My friend who works there told me her supervisor said I'd get the job if I passed the second interview. I had the second interview with two different supervisors, who were also unpolished and unprofessional. I thought it went well, but within 30 minutes of leaving, I got an email saying I didn't get the job. My friend later found out her supervisor told her they didn't like my answer to the last question, which is why I was rejected. Very unprofessional, and I wouldn't work there.

Talent Acquisition Manager
I was contacted by recruiters for a Talent Acquisition Manager position. Even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I decided to interview. The initial phone screen went really well and they seemed impressed with my background. After two phone interviews, I went on-site to meet with over 5 senior staff members. The office environment was a bit dark and the facilities needed maintenance. They told me I was their top candidate and to hold off on other offers, calling it a 'sure thing.' However, they ended up not being able to proceed due to budget issues. My interview involved a disorganized group session where interviewers were late and didn't seem clear on the role I was interviewing for. I've been in recruiting long enough to spot a poorly run organization, and this was one. They kept saying their bad reviews were from 'past management' but their current practices seemed to be the same. I'm glad the disorganization with their legal/HR team prevented me from joining. Based on my research, IWP seems to be a struggling company with a history of negative employment practices.
- It was more of a chat than a structured interview, but they asked questions about my recruiting background and how I'd fit into their team.
Account Executive
I sent in my resume and then the Talent Acquisition Manager reached out by email. We had a chat about my skills and what I've done. After that, I was passed along to the Hiring Manager who got in touch with me directly, but we didn't really set up a specific time to talk.
