It was a very thorough and comprehensive interview process. They were very courteous and prompt with their replies and assessments. I'm still waiting to talk with the department head, but hopefully salary negotiations go smooth.

So I had this onsite interview at their Milpitas office, which was a bit weird because there was no prior phone screen or anything. They first said it would be a coding challenge, but then on the day of the interview, they told me it's actually a design challenge. I had to make high-fidelity prototypes for a user flow in just 3 hours, which felt like a lot to do from scratch without knowing exactly what they were looking for. The interviewer didn't really introduce themselves or ask me to introduce myself, and I was basically left to work alone in the office. Finding someone to review my work at the end took a while, and the feedback was super quick and only about the final output, not my thinking. They also asked for my design files afterward, which felt a bit off. It felt like they cared more about deliverables than the process, and honestly, it showed a low level of UX maturity. Startups have constraints, sure, but this level of disorganization was too much and gave me a bad vibe about their culture.

Case Presentation Behavioral

Overall, it was a great experience. It was tough, but good. This company seemed to use cases and put real preparation into reviewing responses, rather than just calling for a chat. The CEO personally meets with every candidate and is a very strong leader. He was a former consultant and is very passionate about the idea.

Behavioral Case Presentation

Applied through the uni job portal. Had a phone chat with the CEO, who seemed to have forgotten about it. Then, I was given a case study to finish in 48 hours, which was more about getting feedback for their website. The next week, I went for an onsite interview. The first part was with someone from Operations at Inhabitr. They mostly talked about my case study responses and seemed rushed to leave. After that, I had to wait for the CEO. I waited around 30 minutes. The CEO then interviewed me, gave me a case study, and asked some questions about it. Then, he just got up and walked away, signaling the end. No follow-up email or call about the interview status. Don't expect a response after interviewing. The CEO is really busy and takes calls during interviews, so don't expect their full attention.
