First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ingram Content Group.
Client Sales Manager
The interview process was smooth despite the offices not being great. It was fairly straightforward and easygoing. I didn't love that they had an open floor plan with cubicles, so I didn't get to see much else of their downtown offices or observe other people working. The front desk person was nice.
- Describe a time you had to deal with a difficult situation related to distribution.
Associate
The interview was managed by a third party, but the company made sure everything ran smoothly and communicated really well. The team leads did a great job handling the warehouse positions. Because I was already with the company, the onboarding process was super straightforward.
- What is your tenure with the company?
Administrative Assistant and Customer Support Coordinator
I had a couple of exploratory phone calls for different jobs, and it was a really good experience overall. The first call was for an administrative role in a warehouse, and the recruiter was super nice and kept me in the loop. They decided to go with someone who had more admin experience, which makes sense, but that recruiter saw I'd applied for another job at the company and she actually reached out to the other recruiter to put in a good word for me. The second recruiter I spoke with was fantastic, I felt like she was really rooting for me, and it made it easy to talk openly. I was offered an in-person interview, but I ended up taking a job elsewhere, and they were really cool about me cancelling and even wished me luck. The company seems really well-run, the pay is decent, and everyone I talked to was incredibly friendly. I liked that in both calls they explained why the position was open, like people retiring or moving up, which made me feel good about the role and not like it was a high-turnover situation. I think it would be a great place to work!
- Could you tell me something about yourself?
- What's your background in office administration, handling office orders, payments, and customer service?
Human Resources
The recruiter was great. It was a pretty standard screening process that included an assessment. I do value the due diligence of including a personality assessment and how important these can be for certain jobs. But, in my experience, I would've expected to see it later in the process to help narrow down the final candidates. Making a decision just based on test results makes me think the company isn't confident enough in their own abilities. I'd also suggest giving feedback to candidates on why they were rejected. They deserve that.
- Did you complete a personality assessment?
