Special Education Teacher
Standard process, transparent and fair. The staff I met were kind and engaging. They made every effort to get feedback from me on the process. The whole thing took about three weeks from initial interview to offer letter. Steps: HR Phone Screener, Interview with the Principal, Sample Teach, Offer.
- Could you share an instance where you received difficult feedback?
Operations Director
I started with an application, then a long questionnaire (7 pages) with written and video responses. Next, I was given five performance tasks related to the role, each taking longer than the last. After two weeks of silence, I followed up and got an automated rejection email within five minutes because the role was filled. I never spoke to anyone during the process. While I appreciate the school's tech and performance-driven approach, it felt soulless and left a negative impression. Having been on both sides of hiring, this was the most detached and inconsiderate experience. After asking for considerable time in three rounds, a phone or in-person chat before rejection is the least expected. It's avoidable to waste more candidate time when you already have your final picks.
- What are the top three things that make a great team environment and keep it that way?
Student Records Manager
I had a good chat with the recruiter. They then gave me a performance task to do. After that, I was invited for an interview. It was a panel interview with the operations director, another operations team member, and the recruiter. They asked a lot about how I did the performance task, which I'd honestly forgotten about since it was a week ago. I wish I'd had a printout or brought my laptop to explain my project better.
- What were your questions regarding the project?
School Social Worker
So after I applied, I got a link to schedule my interview. Once that was done, I got a Zoom link. The day of, I hopped on 10 minutes early, and waited over 20 mins. It was right after Spring Break so I gave them a pass, but nobody showed up. I emailed the supervisor and they let me know the job was already filled. That would have been nice to know BEFORE my interview. Super unprofessional.
