First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ING Direct.
Sales Associate
Got an email from ING to set up a phone interview. Talked to someone from HR for the phone interview, she asked basic questions like "why do you want to work here?". Then HR reached out to schedule an in-person interview which was a group interview focusing on customer service questions.
- What makes you want to work at this company?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- Can you describe your strengths and weaknesses?
Sales Associate
I got contacted by a recruiter right after I applied online. We had a quick phone interview, and then I had to do a personality test and fill out some online application stuff. After that, they called me in to interview with two people. It was pretty chill and they were really laid back. The following week, I went back for another one-on-one interview, and it was also super relaxed. Then, in less than a week, they offered me the job.
- Describe a situation where you experienced failure.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations to help a customer?
Sales Associate
After submitting my online application, I got a call the same day for a quick phone interview. Then, they asked me to come in for an in-person meeting. I had to wait a couple weeks to finish school, otherwise it would have been faster. During the in-person interview, HR showed me around the office and then I met with two sales coaches. Finally, I had to do a pretend sales call. I heard back a week later that I didn't get the job because I didn't have enough sales experience.
- What is your primary motivation?
- What are your career aspirations in the next five years?
