First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ING BANK N.V..
International Talent Program
The process is made of 4 steps. First there are logic/math/reading comprehension tests, then a screening with HR, then a panel with managers, and finally an interview with the head of the business line. These tests really cut the majority of the candidates so pay attention on that.
- Why did you choose to join ING?
- How do you see your growth path?
AML Analyst
I had to travel across the country for this job interview. Because of some outages, I couldn't get there on time and I told the interviewer about it 3 hours beforehand. The interviewer said to come anyway and that it wouldn't be a big deal. When I got there, the interviewer was unprofessional and seemed uninterested, looking out the window while I was answering his questions. It was the worst interview experience I've ever had, and I didn't feel respected at all.
- The interview included questions and a test.
Financial Advisor
It was a group interview where they presented an offer for a course in partnership with SDA Bocconi. This course is to help pass the OCF exam to become a certified financial advisor, and then work with the ING Bank financial advisor team. They asked a series of questions about your attitudes, motivations, initiative, and individual qualities. Then there was a second individual interview for further clarification and potentially to bring you into the team.
- Regarding the work of a financial advisor, in which area would you feel you are lacking the most: financial knowledge or the commercial aspect of client relations?
Facilities Coordinator
I was interviewed by two people, and the whole thing felt a bit rushed. One interviewer didn't seem to be enjoying themselves and barely asked me anything. They took me to a meeting room. While it's not a hospitality business, I would have appreciated a glass of water. Even though I've done this role for over 2 years at another reputable company, I never got a call back, so I don't know why I wasn't moved forward.
- What is your knowledge of BM tools?
- How do you handle objections?
