I only had the first stage of the interview process, which was with HR. After that, I had no follow-up or feedback, even though she promised to get back to me within the next couple of days. This is always a bad sign, in my opinion, as it shows lack of respect.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

Had a great time meeting the team and really enjoyed all 3 interviews. The first one was super casual. Then, the second interview was with the entire team, included some role-playing and good questions. They also gave me lots of time to ask them questions. The third interview was with the VP of Global Sales. It was a tough one with some tricky sales questions, but if you've got sales experience and can stay calm, you'll do great. They mentioned that pay is negotiable based on your experience.

It started with just emails. Then there were 3 interviews. First, a technical one with the team leader, a senior dev, and an architect. Lots of questions, some technical, some about fitting into the team. They really wanted to see experience with their specific tools because it's hard to find. There was a 'homework' task to see if you'd move on. Seniors also had a task, but they had to do it in the office for a few hours. Second, a follow-up with an American manager, more theoretical stuff about logic and experience over a conference call. Third, the final chat with the general manager. We talked about work stuff, and she was really nice, highlighting company benefits, both tech and social. The weird part was the salary question, which came out of nowhere and was stressful because there wasn't much feedback on how I was doing. They're starting to ask this over email now, which is better. The whole process felt a bit off and uncertain. HR got involved later and improved things, but it could still be better.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The whole interview process felt pretty disorganized. I had a bunch of interviews with different people from the company, both in the US and in Bulgaria. It was weird because I had two separate chats with HR, which made me wonder why. They kept asking the same questions, showing they weren't really talking to each other. Interviews got canceled or pushed back a lot, and they didn't seem to care how long it was taking, like there was no rush to fill the position. Some other candidates felt the same way – we figured the US management didn't have a clue what was going on in Bulgaria or what they actually wanted in a GM there. This GM role in Bulgaria might stay open for ages because the US leadership seems clueless. Meanwhile, their competitors are snatching up developers from Infragistics because Infragistics USA can't decide if they even need a leader in Bulgaria, which they clearly do.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The operational team asked practical and logical questions, seeming to have a better grasp of what they need in a leader.
  • US managers asked questions that felt disconnected from the actual needs of the role.
