Creative Strategist
Got a call from a recruiter who sounded super hyped about hiring me. We set up a Google Hangout for the interview, and they gave me an assignment to do. After that, it was crickets. I had to keep chasing the recruiter for updates because it didn't make sense how excited she was initially, and then she just disappeared. Whenever she did get back to me, she’d say she had no clue what was happening, would look into it, and I should call back later. After a month, I just stopped. This whole process felt super unprofessional and like they have zero communication skills. Honestly, just tell me if I didn't get the job or if there wasn't enough budget. It's not that hard, it's literally your job.
- Are you interested in digital marketing?
Campaign Manager
The interview process was pretty standard. There were a few rounds of interviews, and each one was with someone who had direct knowledge of the role and would likely be a colleague. About halfway through, I realized I didn't have as much direct experience as they were looking for, so it wasn't a surprise when I was ultimately rejected. They did reject me very kindly, though, and offered me the chance to re-apply later for a less senior position. I'm bummed I didn't get the job because the benefits they mentioned were amazing and the team seemed like fun.
- Can you describe your approach to managing individuals with challenging personalities?
Campaign Manager
The interview process was straightforward and simple. I was contacted by the hiring manager (director) and she was pleasant. In the second round, I met with 4 team members in two separate calls (30 mins each). After the second round, they offered me a different position than I applied for, but I declined. The team basically told me I was expected to work after hours and on weekends. They said this was normal for the team as they are scaling, but it's hard to believe as it looks like everyone feels burnt out.
