Account Manager
So after my initial chat with the hiring manager, I went through this really weird interview process. It started with a 30-min Zoom with a director, which seemed to go okay. Then, a few days later, I talked to two account managers who were super into me joining them, saying I'd be a great fit. After that, I had what they called the 'final' interview with the head of the business unit. It was super casual, like just hanging out, and the VP basically offered me the job, saying the official offer would be there by day's end or early next week. I was over the moon, ready to quit my current job after a long interview haul and turning down other offers. Luckily, I didn't. Days went by with no word, and I started to get a bad feeling. Reading Glassdoor reviews freaked me out – was I being ghosted? I tried reaching out tons of times by phone, LinkedIn, and email. Finally, a hiring manager told me the role was moving to a different client and asked if I'd do one more interview. I agreed, thinking we were back on track. But then that interview got postponed not once, not twice, but three times because of 'scheduling conflicts.' On the day of the third reschedule, the hiring manager called to say the role was on hold indefinitely. They offered me a different role, but by then, it was obvious this whole thing was a mess and totally unprofessional. If this is how they operate, I'd tell others to be careful. Expect long waits, possible ghosting, and zero clear communication.

Account Manager
I’m disappointed. It’s quite sad actually - with many lay offs and candidates dealing with immense uncertainty, one would think Influential would have some compassion and at least send a follow up email. Was I rejected? Was another candidate selected? Did they decide to go with an internal candidate? Did they decide to remove the position for now due to budget cuts or restructuring? Was it just not a good fit? I wouldn’t know because no one has followed up with me after 5 rounds of interviews AND a project/assessment - I have followed up with zero response or feedback with the status of the position. Influential has no regard or respect for candidates. A simple, “ we decided to go in a different direction” would have been fine but no follow up at all? Shameful Their actions demonstrate the company’s poor character, lack of sensible leadership and disdain for candidates overall. There is no excuse - a follow up email should always be sent. I hope they learn from this. Overall everyone seemed kind but the interview process and communication needs some fine tuning.
- Can you tell me about how you manage projects?
Account Manager
First, an HR person reached out and we talked about my general experience and salary expectations. After that, I had a call with the department's VP. Then, I had another phone interview, this time with the hiring manager. Finally, I went in for in-person interviews with the team. These were back-to-back, about 3-4 of them, and each lasted 30 minutes. The whole experience felt very conversational, and everyone seemed genuinely enthusiastic and passionate about the company.
- Can you walk me through your background?
- Describe a situation where you had to manage a challenging client.
