The interview process was pretty bad, leadership seemed really disorganized. HR was also all over the place and the whole thing felt like a completely uncoordinated effort. I left thinking, 'seriously, who would want to work here?'. It was a bit scary.

I applied to IH and only dealt with their HR, who was very nice. The test was the main issue. I got a test with 5 questions. Some problems were weird. For one, they said my answer was good but not 'optimized for performance,' even though it handled standard and most edge cases. I know Big O, just didn't use it then. For another, I gave a pseudo-answer instead of guessing, figuring it was better than faking it. Apparently, another question had syntax errors but was logically correct. And on one, I lost points for writing the answer instead of returning it, though the logic was fine and would have run. I skipped the 5th question, an advanced SQL JOIN, for a JavaScript role. I know JOINs and have used them. The whole process felt a bit messy. HR relayed the dev team's feedback. The weirdest part was being asked to submit answers in Google Docs, not a coding platform. If I had advanced, I'm not sure I would have accepted. Maybe they missed a bracket copying my code? I ran it in Sublime before pasting. Oh well.

Applied online and got a referral from a friend. Talked to HR for a phone screen, then the hiring manager for another phone screen. Had an in-person interview, followed by a phone screen with the VP of Sales. Received a job offer. They were in a hurry to fill the position.

So I applied online and then about a week later, I got an email asking if I could do a phone screening. I did that and then they asked if I could have a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, they asked me to come in for a face to face meeting with them. I passed that and then a week later, I had another phone interview, this time with the VP of the department. Right after that phone call, they asked me to come in again for a face to face interview with the VP. The very next day, they offered me the job. It took about 6 weeks total from when I first applied.
